Balasar

Description:
Bio:

My name is Balasar, son of Tomei high cleric of Tiamat. Raised in the village of Fengu, Just outside the Fire Ring. An alter built for the Queen Of Dragons. Every day for 16 years my father drilled me in the ways of that arrogant dragon abomination, Day in and day out I was forced to hear her self center sermons. I knew from a young age I wasn’t like the rest of my clan. They preferred battle and death, they reveled in destruction and murder all in the name of Tiamat. I was different, too different. I wanted to protect the feeble, empower those who feared the darkness.

I hated the fact my father stood by and watched as our clan destroyed tribe after tribe. No remorse ever left his face. I grew angry and in a fit of utter madness I challenge my father, No Tomei high priest of Tiamat to Ara-Kai. This would prove to be a foolish decision. Knowing my Tomei to my better, I sought out a power I knew he would fear. His worst enemy and my greatest ally. Bahamut god of all Dragons, champion of justice. I sought refuge in an abandon cave on the outskirts of our village. There I prayed. For the straight days I stayed in that damp hole, praying for his guidance and acceptance. At first I was blinded by anger and malice towards the tragedies my father allowed to occur, but as I sat in the darkness I came to a realization. I was not asking the gods for the power to kill my father. I merely wanted to open his eyes. To show him there was another way. Fear and power are not our only weapons. As I sat in the dark contemplating the meaning of those words, He spoke. “Balasar, Why have you called out to me?”, sounding as if thunder itself had entered my ears. In amazement I asked “ Are you Bahamut, or have I gone mad from hunger?”. Silence followed. He spoke again “ Young dragonborn, in your I see a great resolve. I’ll grant you my power, but at a cost.” Again the roar of his voice shook the small cave. I replied with slight hesitation “what cost?”. Silence once again fell across the darkness. Minutes passed as days, until he spoke once more. “You must protect those can’t protect themselves, Spread justice to those without law and most importantly stand against those who would follow the wretched Tiamat”. The words danced through my mind, and without hesitation “with the highest of honor I accept!” No sooner had the words left my mouth a bright light filled the small cave. As I opened my eyes, I beheld a magnificent sight. Before me stood a man with large platinum wings, long flowing silver hair. In his hand he clutched a large Warhammer. As I reached out to grab the weapon, I heard a voice deep inside my mind, a familiar voice, a female voice “Your father has his reasons”. Before I could utter a word of reply I collapse from hunger. When I awoke hours had passed, Laying at my feet was the war hammer and a suit of platinum colored chain mail adorned in the symbol of Bahamut. I tore off my robes and donned the armor. Leaving the cave I realized the time, the Ara-Kai was upon me. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me. Arriving at the temple Tomei was on one knee, reciting the prayer of battle. As I approached the center my father looked up, his eyes instantly cold as he saw the symbol on my shield. He shouted “TRAITOR!, How dare you hold the mantle of the oppressor!”. “I am no traitor father, I merely have no wish to slaughter the innocent.” but before my words could reach his ears he attacked. Looking back I do not recall the details of the fight, All I know is I lost. Tomei was stronger a lot stronger, and yet he sparred my life. Not out of compassion or kin shipped but because his law demanded I be exiled. Four years have passed since then. Now I travel the land helping those in need and destroying any sign of Tiamat and her followers I come across…
